The makers touchmark reads ‘ C ✳ SH ’, sadly I have been unable to identify the maker. This style of tankard was made in both the Georgian and Victorian periods, it is difficult to date as the excise stamp maybe a later addition than its manufacture, also these marks were only introduced in 1836 and were not always adhered to.
