A very high quality made steamer chest circa 1890s . This trunk has the sort after number 4 hinges. which are quite different from normal hasp locks. both work and hold the lid firm. The lid lifter is metal many are.leather which perish The rear has four hinges for the lid, most trunks have two or three at most The front lock is a eagle lock top quality. There is no key, lost to farther time. You can still get hold of eagle keys if you wanted one. The wooden banding has metal covers still lots of canvas. It has been around over a hundred years it will of course has dings marks etc. All four bottom roller casters are still present. Just a fad trunk.
