A very unusual 4.4" spherical shell/cannonball. This ball was recovered from a Georgian firing range, where Royal Navy officers and gunners were trained until the end of the Victorian era. The ball has a smooth fuze apature, for an early wooden timed 'boxer' type fuze. The ball has gone through a lengthy treatment and preservation. The external condition is good, please use the photgraphs as a condition report. A deaireable piece for any naval collector, from the bygone golden age of sail.
