This is a lovely, good quality, solid silver sauce or gravy ladle in the classic ‘Old English’ pattern; made during the reign of King George III. It is fully hallmarked on the back of the handle with: the lion passant guardant for English 925 silver, the leopard’s head crowned for the London assay office, the date for 1799, the head of King George III as duty stamp and the maker’s mark for William Eley and William Fearn.
