This is a late Victorian silver plated wine / champagne/ soda symphony holder by Atkinson Brothers of Sheffield. It is stamped to the base with the maker’s mark and the catalogue number 2842. It stands at 16.5 cm in height with a base diameter of 13.5 cm. There is no serious damage but there is some splitting to the crown where someone has probably tried to push too large an item into the holder. It is quite tarnished, apart from the base which shows the original finish beautifully. The interior is not pretty, but complete. Lots of lovely detail work and a fairly rare find too.
