A large French bronze by Charles Cumberworth (1811-1852) depicting Paul et Virginie. C1846. Depending on where you read Cumberworth was either born in France or England. He worked in Paris and also exhibited at the Paris Salon. This bronze is large and weighs 10kg. The patination is fantastic. There is a casting flaw to the bottom right of the base as photographed. Size is 35cm high, 32cm wide and 18cm deep.
