This is a 19th Century French bronze gilt (ormolu) sculpture of the Spanish artist Esteban Murillo. The figure is depicted standing deep in thought next to a plinth holding his brushes, palette and sheets of paper. He is mounted on a good sized plinth. There is some patination across the surface (see photos) among more brightly gilded areas.
