The Latah formations are spectacular vertical basalt formations near Spokane, WA. Three Craters are (I believe) volcanic pit craters in the Palouse Hills, also near Spokane. There is also discussion of lava flow lines and caves in that general area, as well as interesting geological formations known as tree casts and a discussion of similar located at Blue Lake in the Grand Coulee.
