Stunning Art Deco style bronze sculpture depicting a dancing lady with a grape vine wrapped around her. This piece is entitled 'The Vine' & was originally sculpted in 1923 by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth. However although bearing her signature this is not an original of her work, it is a modern reproduction. The sculpting & quality of this cast is apparent simply by looking at the photos provided. The lady has a lovely lifelike face Height 41cm The bronze is finished off superbly by being mounted on a tiered black marble base. The original of this piece is currently housed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City This is a genuine hot cast bronze finished on a solid marble base, do not confuse this with cheap 'cold cast' resin bronzes.
