Stunning quality bronze lady sculpture in the style of Art Deco. The bronze depicts an elegant dancer. This is a famous work originally cast circa 1920 by DH Chiparus, however although this piece bears his signature it is not an original of his work but is a modern reproduction The Bronze is super quality, it is a genuine hot cast bronze finished on a solid marble base, do not confuse this with cheap 'cold cast' resin bronzes This beautiful bronze has been heavily influenced by the theatre upon which DH Chiparus based many of his sculptures. His appreciation of the feminine form and extravagant creations helped define the Art Deco period Standing 43cm high, the bronze is finished off superbly by being mounted on a most elegant tiered marble base.
