18th Century Pewter Plate from Carpenter & Hamberger of London - C.1798 - beautiful item with that warm pewter glow - approx 228 years old - if only it could talk - it’s seen 45 UK Prime Ministers come and go - good condition with it’s share of scratches and dents (see photos) - heavy - this pewter plate was made towards the end of the pewter period and by 1850 the UK had largely stopped using pewter plates for everyday usage. A beautiful and functional piece of history - diameter 24cm - weight 541 g
