The hallmark of an open hand/palm and a teardrop with a dot in the center appear on the base of the bowl as well as the underside of the lid. Up for sale here is what appears to be a fine example of Old Sheffield Plate, a sauce or soup tureen, with a ladle handle hole in the lid.
