Vintage MCM Slant Top Wood Desk Writing Slope Lap Box - 12.5" x 12.5" x 3.5" This vintage MCM slant top wood writing desk slope was likely made sometime in the early half of the 1900s, probably closer to 1950 than 1900. There are 5 holes drilled in the back so it was likely fastened securely in place to another piece of furniture. Shopkeepers would use sometimes use these as cash boxes. This particular one was an estate find so i do not know the history. Other than the pre-drilled holes, there are no flaws to the structure. There is some varnish or lacquer that had peeled on the top. This would make an excellent mid century modern restoration piece!
