Vintage Hobbs & Co of Cheapside London Small metal deed box with key Circa 1855-1900 Lift out tray at top revealing storage beneath. Handles to side. Brass lock mechanisms displaying name. Hobbs & Co formed by the American Alfred Charles Hobbs who travelled to London in 1851 to attend The Great Exhibition and caused a storm by picking locks and then setting up his business in Cheapside, London. Approx 32cm long x 22cm wide x 10.5cm high. Condition. Plenty of scuffs, scratches and rust particularly underneath. Three holes in base. Please see all pictures for condition.
