Extremely rare Victorian Table Top Candle Screen. Miniature version of the more common pole scree. Would have been used to protect from the heat of the candle and to diffuse glare when reading and writing. Mahogany frame which extends in height from 38cms to 58cms fully extended. Width is 28cms and the base is 15cms. Some pin holes to the mesh screen and fading to the colours of the embroidery. Brass candle stick is for effect and illustration as to use of the screen and is not included.
