A fine and elegant Victorian sterling silverpot pourri box, assayed in London in 1839 and made byEdward Edwards II. Both decorative and functional, pieces of this type were intended to hold dried flowers or scented botanicals, allowing fragrance to gently escape through the pierced lid.
