Maker: Frederic Purnell. Originally forming part of a travelling vanity set, it features a clear glass body with vertical fluting and a hinged sterling silver lid with a gilt interior. The silver mount is fully hallmarked to the rim, and the hinge and closure are typical of quality Victorian dressing table wares.
