This trunk is a vintage P&O (Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) leather cabin trunk dating from approximately the late Victorian period, circa 1900. It features durable leather construction with reinforced metal corner protectors. There is some damage to the handle and hinge, as seen in the photos. The trunk includes original paper travel labels indicating it was meant to be kept in a passenger's cabin rather than the ship's hold. Historically, these trunks were designed to fit under cabin bunks during long sea voyages. This trunk would be a great decorative addition to a home, shop or restaurant etc.
