This Victorian seamed copper kettle with hinged lid is exceptional and exceedingly rare, rare in the sense that it has been sitting unused somewhere for nigh on 150 years. Exceptional in the sense of its condition with no dents, albeit for one tiny knock to the top of the handle. Fully tinned inside with no scale or marks except for time wear. This kettle would suit the perfectionist collector of copper kitchenware items. I doubt if one could find a better example. There is an '8' stamped to the handle stay of the kettle denoting how many pints it holds. It could still be used if you dare, with a good boiling out. Kettle lid inside carries the makers or ironmongers information.
