Boldly potted globular body with everted neck and gilt rim. The exterior carries an all-over black ground decorated with a richly coloured chinoiserie composition of exotic birds — including long-tailed pheasant-type species in amber, blue and rose — perched among flowering branches bearing pink and crimson blooms, with further sprays of peony and tulip across the reverse.
