The First Great Seal of the United States of America from 1782 – Wax Seal Stamp

£42.31

Adopted in 1782 after years of deliberation following the Declaration of Independence, the original design embodied the bold spirit of the fledgling nation. The obverse of the seal presents a bald eagle, wings outstretched, grasping an olive branch in one talon to symbolise peace, and thirteen arrows in the other to represent readiness to defend the new republic.
