This rare 1857 edition of the Daily Prayers (Tefilat Yeshurun) is a beautiful example of mid-19th-century Jewish liturgical craftsmanship. Published in Vienna by the renowned Joseph Schlesinger, it was translated by Joseph Güns to serve the German and Polish rites. Features a distinctive antique binding with carved bone onlays mounted on the front and back covers. It is secured by original brass clasps to protect the pages from warping. Measuring 6" x 4" (16 x 10 cm), it was designed as a "pocket" or travel-sized volume for daily use The page edges are finished with gilt (gold leaf). The prayers are presented in the original Hebrew with a facing English translation by Joseph Güns. Excellent condition with fully intact bone carvings and functional brass hardware.
