THE BIG ISSUE by Carl F.E Hodgson Original oil painting on stretched canvas 40 INCHES x 40 INCHES Painting is not framed This is an Oil painting entitled 'The Big Issue' signed and dated 1995 by the great Political Artist Carl Hodgson. It is a heartfelt and perceptive painting of homelessness and dereliction depicting the under-belly of British life that is even more relevant today than it was in 1995 , which is now 25 years distant. This painting seems to be the double meaning of "The Big Issue" as a magazine and the factual reality of 'down and outs' congregating in a hopeless alcohoholic street community. This was acquired from the Studio Portfolio of Carl Hodgson, although Liverpool born, he lived and worked in North Wales until his death in 2016.
