Vintage brass “Cherub” taffrail log spinner manufactured by T. Walker & Son Ltd. of Birmingham, England. This marine instrument component was originally towed behind a vessel and used with a Walker taffrail log system to measure distance traveled through the water. Marked with the Walker anchor logo, “T.W. CHERUB,” and “T. Walker & Son Ltd., Birmingham, England.” Original braided tow line remains attached. Constructed of brass with four fins and attractive age patina. A desirable piece of maritime history and an excellent display item for nautical collections, ship restorations, lake houses, yacht clubs, or maritime museums. Condition consistent with age and use.
