The design is characterised by its simple architectural form, contrasting lighter timber edging and particularly distinctivesculpted wooden handles, which give the piece much of its character. The timber surfaces have been carefully cleaned, prepared and refinished to revive the natural warmth and grain of the teak while retaining the character of the original piece.
