The seat rails are detailed with a fine incised moulded edge, and the mahogany shows the depth of colour and close grain associated with fine 18th-century timber. English, circa 1780. As a group of four they form an elegant small dining set, but are equally well suited as side chairs in a hall, study or bedroom.
