This table features a sunburst segmented veneer design with fine marquetry, a style highly popular in Italian Mid-Century Modern and late Edwardian decorative furniture from the 1930s to the 1950’s. The central motif depicts a classic dancer, which is characteristic of European (particularly Italian or French) artisan woodwork from the Art Deco or Mid-Century era. Similar high-end sunburst and marquetry coffee tables from this era are often attributed to influential designers like Paolo Buffa. There are definitely signs of age and wear but still beautiful and and strong mahogany table.
