Each panel has a 3 1/4" high x 2 1/4" wide oval opening for a photo. The total width fully opened is 7 1/2". Each panel is stamped 23. UNUSUAL OVAL SHAPE FOR PICTURES . The front has been engraved as evidenced in photos, but this is a very nice piece.
