Nice early 20th century (Edwardian) butt/place marker in the form of a vesta case and in very good condition with just light surface wear due to age and use.Butt markers were used to assign start locations in shooting but could be used in numerical chance games or just as a collectable.Shooting peg case has a tight fitting lid and when open reveals eight numbered pegs/paddles each topped with a ball finial,case has a suspension ring which would have hung from a gentlemans watch chain (Albert) Case measures 55 mm wide x 40 mm high and weighs 46 grams offered with best offer and free postage.
