This is for a fantastic & rare antique shipwright's wooden caulking crate stool. It has its original paint which is a grayish/green color. This portable caulking box would've held the shipwright’s most important tools like mallets and irons. Not only was this mariners "tool box" used to make their tools accessible at all times but also allowed him to sit on the box when on deck. Has its original sailcloth fabric on top attached with copper nails. Bottom side wall base has a rounded edge allowing box/stool to rock while sitting on. It measures approximately 17 inches length by 10 3/4 inches width by 10 3/4 inches height. Expected wear, scratches, scattered light staining, copper patina on copper nails that hold edge of sailcloth fabric. Drying lines on both end walls that are tight & secure.
