This manuscript dates back to 15th-century Spain , making it one of the few surviving examples of Jewish scribal tradition from the Golden Age of Spain, just before the Expulsion of 1492. Following the Spanish Expulsion, such scrolls traveled with the exiles to the Ottoman Empire and eventually reached Eretz Israel .
