Stirling Castle sterling silver and glass compote. Made by Quaker Silver Co. Inc. in North Attleboro, Mass., ca 1950. Curved and shallow bowl and stepped foot with four cast leaf-mounted scallop-shell supports. Ovoid glass support with controlled bubble and silver acanthus leaf borders; mounted to silver gadrooned flange. Fully marked including stamp for Quaker, a North Attleboro maker active beginning in 1926 that was acquired by Gorham in 1959, pattern name, and no. S81006. Dimensions: H 6 x D 7 1/2 in. #BZ360.
