Praia Folding Chair by Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Gavina Italy c. 1960s. Castiglioni was a Milanese based mid century industrial designer/architect who along with his brother created many iconic furniture and lighting pieces of the time. This very clever foldaway chair made from beech and durable canvas slings is entirely contained within the carrying bag/backrest making it extremely portable.... beach, fishing etc. Chair is in very good vintage condition, completely functional and providing an extremely comfortable sit. Canvas is a faded khaki colour and the bag/backrest shows some age with discolouration/fatigue which in no way impairs functionality as seat/storage.
