This Paye & Baker tea strainer is somewhat perplexing when I compare it to other P&B strainers I've seen. The outer bowl of the strainer doesn't have any ornate decoration, and is marked "Patent Pending" rather than "Patented 1917. The strainer bowl is also probably not silverplate as there is a small bit of corrosion near the interior center. The P&B hallmark is imprinted on the inside, not the outside. The handle is marked "Sterling Handle" on both sides. There are a few signs of wear, but otherwise it is in very nice condition with the strainer intact.
