This is a pair of antique Gothic Revival hand carved oak architectural panels, probably ecclesiastical or furniture fragments, dating between 1880 - 1900. Each panel measures approximately 19.25” x 5.25” with highest relief point about 1.75”. The panels depict haloed standing figures in flowing robes surrounded by Gothic ornament. One figure carries a cross while the other holds a chalice or covered cup. The oak panels retain their original, dark ebonized finish and display beautiful hand carved details throughout.
