A charming and beautifully patinated pair of antique 19th century cast iron door stop, mantlepiece or fireside dogs in the form of Labrador retrievers. The dogs made of cast iron in mirror image would sit pleasingly either side of a fireplace or a pair of double doors, or quite simply as decorative ornaments. Circa mid-19th century but possibly earlier. 10.5cm high, 15.5cm width. Some flaking to the black painted surface however with a pleasant waxy age patina, in good overall country house condition.
