Very old steamer trunk cast-iron latches. Matched pair. These were salvaged from a trunk made in the late 1870s. Overall good condition. Obvious marks of use and wear- original black paint is mostly gone, definitely has some surface rust, but these would clean up great, especially with a fresh coat of black paint. The small "grid"accents were tacked onto the front of the chest lid just for decoration. Look like they originally had a nickel plate finish, made of stamped steel. Latches are approximately 3.75 inches overall length, 2 inches overall width. Excellent spring/snap on latches. Tried to take plenty of pictures so you can see condition for yourself.
