Old Hand Carved Scottish Cow Horn Tinkler Gypsy Thistle Brose Spoon I am selling a collection of old Scottish Horn Spoons for the remainder please see my other auctions This is an Old Scottish Cow Horn Tinkler Gypsy Brose Spoon, It measures 8.5" in length. At least 200 years old, dating to the 17th ? 18th Century. These types of spoons were carved from cow horns in Scotland. This was under taken by gypsy tinkler travellers who would perform chores on farms such as de-horning cattle. In return they were allowed to keep the horns which they turned into trinkets such as these to sell. This spoon is in good used condition with wear and distress commesnurate with its age .
