This is a vintage French gilt bronze paperweight by Minique Gerber. It is engraved on the side edge with the M in a circle mark and France. It is one of a series of reproductions of items in the Louvre Museum in Paris produced by Monique Gerber in her Art du Bronze studio. This item is a copy of a half-livre weight of Toulouse, dated 1239. On one side is a relief image of Chateau Narbonnais bordered by the inscription Meia Livra de Toloza. On the other side is a relief image of Toulouse Cathedral and the inscription A. N. MCCXXXV1111 (1239). In very good condition with only very minor surface marks. Measures approx 2" in diameter and 0.5" deep. Weighs 206 grams unwrapped.
