Barbier’s animal-motif signatures are among his most sought-after marks, and functional pieces such as teapots are considerably rarer than his jars and sculptural vessels. The teapot is beautifully wheel-thrown in stoneware, finished with Barbier’s characteristic brushed slip decoration in warm earthy tones.
