This beautiful, ornate gold coloured metal cup, is a vintage Russian Podstakannik (tea glass holder) from the Soviet era c. 1950-60's. It has ornate enamel work in a champlevé/cloisonné style technique. It also boasts an enamel picture of the 'Monument to the Destroyer' which is the famous landmark in St. Petersburg, Russia. There is a makers mark on the base alongside the Russian equivalent word for metal.
