A white metal engraved large bowl with a wooden base. I believe it is a wine bottle holder or coaster but it would be for a very large bottle. It is marked to the side of the base "Mappin & Webb" but I cannot find any other marks so I am assuming it is silver-plated. It is engraved to one side: Presented to David J. Cremin to mark his Retirement as Organiser James Capel Annual Golf Invitation Meetings 1983 – 1989 from his Golfing Colleagues at James Capel & Co In very good condition, with no obvious tarnishing, it is approximately 6.5cm tall with a diameter of over 14.5cm.
