Offered for sale is this unique C19th cast iron charcoal iron. The iron has a wooden handle which was originally red, the colour can still be seen on the underside of the handle as well as on the handle on the front of the iron which twists and lifts up the to reveal an iron griddle on which would have sat the heated charcoal. The iron was made in Germany with the words 'Made in Germany' being shown on the back of the iron. I have tried to photograph this but it has not come out well. The iron measures 21cm tall and is 16cm in length. A nice antique item.
