This is a vintage late 19th century/Victorian brass screw expander fitting manufactured by Joseph Fitter. It was produced at the Britannia Works in Cheapside, Birmingham. This fitting is used for extending a dining table mechanism. The Crown emblem on the brass indicates it is a patented design. See pictures for detailing.
