He was born around 1400/10 in Gruitrode (Belgian Limburg) and died on the 12th. February 1475 in Liège. His work within the Carthusian Order was characterized by high administrative responsibility. After joining the order (probably in 1427), he held the office of prior several times: first in the Liège Charterhouse from 1440, in Zierikzee in 1445 and again in Liège from 1447. In 1452 he was appointed Diffinitor of the Orde.
