Iron Age Celtic Chariot Rein Guide Ring Pair 2ndC BC

£250

Period: Late iron age, Celtic. Our horse harness rings, otherwise known as terret rings, were reportedly found at Wetwang, East Yorkshire probably in the 1980’s. Date: 3rd-1st centuries BC. Reconstruction of the chariots indicate that the rings were attached to a yolk that crossed the two horses and guided the reins from the horse’s bits to the charioteer.
