FINE PAIR OF ANTIQUE TURNED WOODEN CANDLESTICKS. MADE FROM TIMBER TAKEN FROM HMS BRITANNIA. (formerly HMS Prince of Wales). 8 3/4 inches (220mm) tall, 6 inches (150mm) diameter. They are beautifuly made and have a lovely deep patina. (H.M.S. Britannia (formerly HMS Prince of Wales) served as the Royal Navy’s cadet training ship at Dartmouth from 1869-1905. She was broken up in 1916). The candlesticks are in very good condition with very light wear consistent with their age, but no major damage, repairs, or woodworm. They are fine examples of their type and they would make great decorative pieces and be a good addition to any collection. Please see the photos for condition and type. weight approx 510 grams.
