The intricate detailing at the top represents a women’s body and the intricacy of the internal female reproductive cycle. The item is made from cherry wood, which has aged and darkened beautifully The piece was commissioned in the late 80’s / 90’s. There are a few knocks to the wood - 3 more most prominently.
