Coming from an old family of Lauragais (Le Cabanial), Georges Guiraud is the son of Albert Guiraud painter illuminator, officer of Public Instruction. It was designed as "a stone book": in addition to itself, the bas-reliefs were made by the sculptors Raoul Lamourdedieu (1877-1943) and Émile Peyronnet (1872-1956).
