The cigarette holder was made in Birmingham for Hall & Fitzgerald and dates to 1919. The firm ceased trading in 1982. The hallmarks, at the bottom of the holder, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter u for 1919 and the H & F sponsors' mark for Hall & Fitzgerald.
